MEETING INFORMATION

MONTHLY MEETINGS

First Thursday of the month, 8pm, Zoom; 1 hour a month

Board of Ed meetings, 1st Tuesday of month at Professional Development Center, Brewer Drive, Monroe, next to CATA, 7pm.

KEY FOCUS AREAS

  • Advocate for Title 1 schools at BOE meetings;

  • Study legislative updates affecting black students

  • Community outreach to educate voters about education related issues

  • Help plan events,

  • Research community issues

  • Make calls/emails (phone banking, outreach)

  • Outreach to schools/churches/community groups

CURRENT PROJECTS

  • We are currently looking to establish a new MOU with the UCPS BOE

  • We are also advocating for better funding and policies at state level, and occasionally, nationally.
