Our world is changing faster than ever, and with each shift comes both uncertainty and opportunity. Yet through every era, one truth has remained constant: when our community stands together, we are powerful beyond measure. As we confront today’s challenges, the Union County NAACP branch continues to be a steady force for
justice, guided by the belief that progress is possible when we move forward as one.
For more than a century, the NAACP has remained rooted in its mission to secure justice, protect civil rights, and expand opportunity for all. While the issues we face today may take new forms, whether in our schools, our healthcare systems, our workplaces, or at the ballot box the call to action remains the same. We are here to ensure that every person is treated with dignity, fairness, and respect, and that the rights promised by our Constitution are fully realized in every community in Union County.

Our strength has always come from members like you. Together, we have:

  • Elevated awareness of education disparities within the Union County school district and advocated for equitable resources.

  • Been instrumental in the decision to modify county ban on use of County Government facilities

  • Provided scholarships to high school seniors going to college.

  • Worked tirelessly to help residents register to vote, protect voting access and challenge efforts that suppress the voices of our communities.

  • Been named as a top 100 branch by the NC State Conference of branches due to membership growth.

These accomplishments remind us that when we unite our voices, we can shift policies, open doors, and change
lives. As we look toward the future, we must meet today’s challenges with renewed courage, creativity, and
conviction. We must build a world where every child grows up with opportunity, where every family has access to
quality education and healthcare, where every worker is treated with fairness and dignity, and where every eligible
voter can cast a ballot freely and confidently.

The road ahead will require persistence, partnership, and a belief in what is possible. But our history proves that
progress is never out of reach when we stand together. With your continued commitment and engagement, we
will carry this legacy forward and help the next generation have a brighter future.
