Mission Statement
The mission of the NAACP Youth & College Division shall be to inform youth of the problems affecting African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities; to advance the economic, education, social and political status of African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities and their harmonious cooperation with other peoples; to stimulate an appreciation of the African Diaspora and other people of color’s contribution to civilization; and to develop an intelligent, effective youth leadership.
Purpose Statement

Nyla White, President
Nyla White is an 8th grader at Weddington Middle School and is the daughter of William and Laverne White. She is the Youth Council President for the Union County Chapter of the NAACP, youth member of the Democracy Center and she is an active member of the NC Association of Teen Democrats. Nyla is a straight A student; an entrepreneur and she is fluent in Spanish. In her spare time, Nyla enjoys reading, volunteering for non-profit organizations, watching movies, spending time with her Shih tzu, and baking homemade cookies and cupcakes for her business, “Bakin the Edge Off”
